It's different, natural, weird, fun, tiring. We'll see if she continues to be so easy and calm. But I'm happy to report that after one day home she seems to be pretty easy to take care of.
For every newborn I meet, see, or help bring into the world. It always blows my mind how small they are. Even at 8lbs 4oz she's bigger than a lot of babies, but still so small.
Some people have said that she is "precious". Which is code for congratulations on your ugly baby. No worries. A camera can never capture the feeling of seeing a newborn, the size, the smell, the tiny cry, the little feet, the rooting. Not all newborns are cute, but I think my baby is.
I have three girls. I'm so outnumbered, soooo out numbered.

I thought you were for SURE having a boy! You are out-numbered, but you and Minna have the most beautiful girls! Little Claire is beautiful! And she is perfect, and will probably stay that way just like Hannah and Jane.

I'd have to disagree on the word "precious". To me it has nothing to do with the looks, but with the pricelessness, and gift that she (or he) is from our Father in Heaven. And, of course, all babies are this.

I host my photos on picasaweb. From there you can copy and paste code into your blog post.
Picasa or Flickr allows you to do this, and it lets you pick a size for whatever you need.
wait a minute... i am pretty sure i put that she was precious on minnas blog. and i meant that she was absolutely priceless... she is so cute.

anyway i think she is perfectly splendid and beautiful. makes me want another baby girl!
Ok so maybe "precious" is my code word and not anyone else's. Just cause all babies are precious but not all babies are beautiful. Although come to think of it I don't think I've really met any babies in person that I didn't think were beautiful.

I totally agree with what you said about a camera not being able to capture the miracle of a newborn...we are so lucky we get to experience it...the greatest most exhausting joy EVER!
